[Exhibition Description]
A-nya.PoPo has lead quite the crazy life. A lot of ups and downs made her into the creator she is today. It feels like a miracle to be here. And the only way she made it this far was through the love and support of all her dear ones and her powerful imagination.
A-nya.PoPo’s father is a poet; and her mum an artist. Since a very young age she would help the now departed Moe Nahara run a very unconventional art school for children and learning creative skills, she kept on making art ever since. Haruo Fujita’s poetic eyes always communicated the value and beauty of life to her.
After a fantastic year of studying art in London she is now back to Tokyo and decided it's was time to give back and open her world for public.
In the show, you will navigate through her cross disciplinary books made in London and meet all her funny and imaginative friends floating around in space.
Welcome to A-nya.PoPo's world, enjoy her magical world.

My dear friends, I'm in Tokyo NOW!!

It's been such a long time!
So so so so many things have happened on me since the last time I updated this blog.

First, I had to give up continuing studying Art in London with financial reason and had to go back to Japan last summer!! And now, I'm in Tokyo and working very hard;)

The secondly,  I was a bit depressed at first when I came back to Japan but thanks to all of my friends and family, I've got a job and I'm happily living&working very hard in Tokyo now!!

Thirdly, I've registered as Artist " A-nya.PoPo " at the tax office today!! It's difficult to explain what this does mean really, but it's a big thing to register as Artist and run my business as artist in Japan!!

I don't know where I'll be next year or what I'll be like in the future, but I just want to make your smile;)

I hope all of you are well and enjoying your life.

My lunch box was very popular...in the park

I went to the Golders Hill Park with my friends.

There were beautiful flowers everywhere in the park.

Especially, Tulip was just about the time to blossom out.

However, I was very hungry, so I had been to Eat Tokyo to have a lunch box for take away before I went to the park.

So, the flowers were all beautiful, but I had to smell of Miso-soup all the time with flowers as I was carrying it.

And, many animals came to my place as they were also hungry.

I wish I could share my lunch box with them, but I had chicken box, I can't give chicken to birds.

It was freezing, but we had really good time....

Great catch up with SUSHI made by dodgy Japanese

My friend has been asking me to teach him how to cook SUSHI.
So, We made a plan to make SUSHI tonight.

I wanted to introduce my another friend to him since the both of them are GREAT young Fine Artist. And also my another friend has just came back from his long trip in Europe!!

It was their first meeting each other, but surprisingly they got along very well and they were talking enthusiastically. I have found the both of them are very smart and talk in a productive way, which make their talking very smooth.

I was so happy to see they now know each other. It's always wonderful to see someone in different community meet with someone from others in one place and become friends.

But, honestly I am not good at making SUSHI (Although I have work experience in SUSHI shop), so they taught me how to cook SUSHI beautifully in the end.

We enjoyed talking and somehow kept talking more than 5 hours straight. It was like a magic.

I am glad to have such a kind friends who don't get mad to find out the truth that their Japanese friend was actually bad at making Sushi.

we went to shopping first!! such a narrow shop!!
not too bad, right?lol
amazing night...oh I look like ghost....

Romanian Dracula Energy Soup for Japanese Zombi...

My friend is from Germany but his family originate from Romania, where "Dracula" is come from.

Today I went to college to install my work in the gallery, but I understood that I can't exhibit my work until other people finish installing their works as I need table in a middle of the gallery.
I was calm but I was nearly dead with fatigue, like a Zombi.

Then, my friend texted me to come to his house for lunch.
I knew I still have pile of things to do, but I had no more energy, so I went to his house.

He knows about vegetables a lot as he is vegan and he always show me some new food which I haven't seen before.

While I was explaining about the mystery of my daily life, he cooked "Lime Beetroot Soup" quickly and efficiently.

I was surprised to see the colour of soup at first, because it was like a blood.
But he told me it 's natural colour of beetroot and not blood.
It was true, the soup was so yummy and I felt much better after eating his miracle Dracula soup.
Maybe he put some magic in the soup.

The London Book Fair -endless reseach-

I went to the London Book Fair after school today.
It was very close to my house compared to Bologna Children's book fair. But I still felt Kensington Olympia was so far away.

I went to the bookfair because one of my artist's friend told me that it's one of the biggest bookfair in London, which was true.
It was HUGE!! and so many people and so many professionals as I expected.

This time, I didn't see anyone who is carrying portfolio. I have seen those kinds of young illustrators in Bologna Bookfair many, but I guess this bookfair was more for making contracts between publishers.

However I couldn't just leave without talking with anyone. I traveled to Olympia although my body was full of pain with fatigue from last few weeks. My main purpose of visiting there was to get feedback for my new book.

I walked around the booths and looked for someone who could give me a minute to talk. Very luckily, I found a few people from publishing companies who kindly accepted my favor. They quickly read my books and gave me some advices:) Many of them gave me the contact of art director in their company, in case I want to have more questions or feedback.
So, now.. I have got to make pdf file and send them!!

My adventure of making book never has a ending:))))

Preparing for the exhibiton -I love his work-

everyone's work
After yesterday's submission, we have started preparing for our final exhibition which start in 2weeks (from 28th of April).

10:30am, their was announcement about where each student's work will exhibit. There are 6 galleries in our college. The lists showed us which gallery we were chosen for.  It reminded me of the announcements of entrance exam's results in Japanese universities.

Mine said "US", at first I didn't get it. Why US, not UK?
But later, I found out that it was "Upper Street Gallery" where I walk through everyday.
I was very happy because one of my best friend was chosen to the same gallery as well. When we showed our works each other, we were saying that it would be wonderful if we could exhibit in same gallery. And it seems our wish is becoming true!!

11:30am, we had an inductions about setting our works tomorrow. I can't really imagine what it will be like 400works in 6 galleries.

Me and my friend went to the flat copy studio. It's took 2hours to finish taking all pictures. But it was still smooth since we have worked together to shoot books in flat copy studio for several times before.

I love his work!! His work is amazing!!!!
Project "Food" by Daniel Faltys
I just can't believe why he is able to make such such beautiful works.
Everything is so detailed. He is very calm and relaxing person normally. But I can tell that when he come to make his work, he gets an obsession with materials and design. The great thing is that he knows what he wants to make from very beginning, so that he focuses on making his final piece with well planned.

Obviously, our styles are opposite. maybe that is why we are very good friend as we miss some of our parts each other.
I'm like I don't really know what my final piece will be until the last minute. Even if I planned very carefully, I always get a something completely different piece in the end. It's actually not only about my art work, maybe my daily life too.

He often wonders why I gets into trouble easily in my daily life. And I often wonder why he can keep so calm and so smart with what he does. The one of the reason might be that he does what he can expect, while I just do.

My sketchbooks are full of my junk and it's hard to close as I stick everything I like. But his sketchbooks are so simple and beautiful.

I really admire his style and appreciate what he is.
I'm looking forward to seeing his future.

But I hope he stop talking about cakes someday(His obsession about cakes are crazy!!). lol
