Another Roma1 - Hotel "The Shining" -

The hostel was fully booked for Easter weekend. So, I searched the cheap hotel in Roma and I managed to book the hotel which was 25minutes from center by bus.

But the hotel really reminded me of the movie "The Shining" by Stanley Kubrick.
I was working on Stanley Kubrick's project this February. It was so funny that there was a huge poster of "A Clockwork Orange" in the house I stayed in Bologna and now this huge old hotel's atmosphere is like "The Shining"!!!

isolated, old, quiet and a little cold...hohoho
The room was clean, but very dark.
There was no other lightning except bed side and there was christian ikon on the wall....
There were no shops around the hotel and I had to wait more than 30minutes to catch bus to go to city, so I didn't go out in the night. Especially, it was rainy.

So, I watched Italian TV!!!!
They were having TV shows about autism.

Later, there was some comedian shows. but I didn't understand Italian at all.

So...I tried my best to think in positive and tried not to care the small noise of wind or something.

But my head was full of this image↓

"Annie": The sun will come out tomorrow...

I didn't know what to do with all the marbling and watercolour images I made in last few days. So, I scanned them all.  Just in case if I want to reprint again, I scanned them in a several mode such as 300dpi and 600dpi and . There were more than 25 images, so I guess I pressed scan button more than 100 times.

well...I went to school after, but I just felt exhausted. My friends were friendly as usually and but I guess I had too much thinking in my head today.

I was somehow so depressed, so I decided to watch a movie something positive.
I watched the famous movie "Annie(1982)", it will be better to watch it in a musical theater.
But I enjoyed it very very very much.

"The sun will come out tomorrow
So you got to hang on 'til tomorrow, come what may.
Tomorrow, tomorrow I love ya tomorrow
You're only a day away …"

Charlie and Lola

I've just found a really pretty animation on BBC.

I know cbeebies(BBC) for babies.
But I love watching the channel for finding great illustrations.
And today, I want to introduce one of my favorite.

Lauren Child is amazing at using colours and the technique of collage.

A Trip to the moon(1902)

Today, I watched the movie is called "A trip to the moon"(1902) by Georges Melies.

It was weird but the pictures were beautiful.
It's very analogue, all the sets were handmade.
But somehow those antique techniques were making the pictures more pretty.

As it's silent movie, there might be a several version of the movie.
The one I watched was colour with "modern" music.
Although I enjoyed the picture very much, I didn't like the background music.
I felt like the music was making the atmosphere of the movie a little ugly.

However I found this on youtube and this is black&white, but this version is so much better!!
I really like the scene when stars rise with faces.
It's really like a magical!!
