Submitting works - We made it!! -

So, Today...Finally I have submitted my work!!

The deadline was 10:30am today, but I had been stack with my evaluation and I just stayed on my computer for last 3days for writing&editing, no time to sleep.

My friend came to my house to make me eat food and correct some of my English writing yesterday. And my another crazily kind friend, he helped me editing my loooooong evaluation, which I was about to give up.

What a surprise was I didn't know he was traveling in Europe when I asked help for him. He called me by Skype from the hostel in Spain. He corrected my bad English from the mid night yesterday, although he had to wake up 6am to catch a fright.

What is more, he edited my final draft at the airport in Spain in the morning and sent me the screenshot of correction at 9am as the airport didn't have wi-fi. And I finished editing the evaluation at 9:30am, run to college and submitted my work with it!!!

I can't thank enough him and many people who has been helping me for last three months...

Although my final major project is nearly ending now, I feel this is my new start. 3months have passed crazily, but I really loved making my book.
I haven't decided where to go after this course, but wherever I go, I want to keep writing stories and making illustrations.

Thank you very much for all of your supports.

Writing evaluation

I guess I have started writing my evaluation for my final project from 11am today and now it's surprisingly 2am, which means I've been stuck with my chair more than 15hours to just write and editing my never ending eveluation.

According to my tutor, it should be less than 1100words, but first I wrote nealy 3000words and now it's still more than 2000words now.
We submit this with our final piece and sketchbook.
It should explain the project well, but I'm very bad at writing in simple way.
My friends are kindly offering to check my English, but I feel very embarrassed to show such non-academic evaluation.
I love writing stories and journals but I'm not good at writing business mail nor academic reports.

"Practice makes perfect"

I hope....

Binding Books:)

After struggling with photoshop and InDesign, I have managed to print out my pictures in Degital Reprographic and I started binding from 1pm.
I saw them as tight as I can and I did gluing as much careful as I can.

When I noticed, it was already 8:30pm and the security came to told me that I had to leave college immediately as he is closing.

I was very exhausted on my way home.
but then, I wonder why I had to bind two books today.
I printed my contents twice in different papers as I wanted to see the deference.
but it doesn't mean I needed to bind two!!

oh well... at least, it was a good practice.
I have two text blocks now...lol

Fonts and Cover

Today, I was re-editing fonts and also making a cover.
Although there are not much texts in the book, fonts completely change the atmosphere of story.

And also the font of colours are so important.
Especially, I'm making the cover design simpler this time, the shape of fonts, colours change the first impression of the book for readers.

boring

too serious

too pretty

close!!

In the end, I decided to use orange+magenta:))

Back to work -Remaking a book -

When I woke up, luckily I heard the noise of freezer, which means there is electricity back in this house!! yay!!

Now I'm back in London, so I decided to re-edit my current book again.

I know I must submit the book next Monday and I already made one, but after showing the book to many people in the bookfair Bologna, I truly felt I need to remake it.

I thought colourful and big impression is important for making children's picture book. So, I choose high white papers to print so that the colours would standout. I made a book in A4 size with big fonts.   But now, I can tell colours are too vivid and all of my efforts to make "big" are actually destroying the atmosphere of story. It's not big story, It's tiny story.

So, I have decided to crop all of images from the white background, so that I can print on different colours papers.
And also, I'm making the font smaller this time and the size of book also smaller.

Adventure Never End -Blackout in London-

I came back to London today and I arrived 21:30 at home from Stansted Airport.

It was very dark, so I thought the people in my flat started to go to bed early or having a candle night.

But when I reached to my room which is in the top floor of the house, I understood that blackout has been happening in some of the house in this area.
It is so dark that I can't see anything,
Very luckily I still have power in my laptop.

According to my flat mate, it has started from 5pm and now it's 11pm.
I hope we have electricity back by tomorrow as I can't live without wifi!!!(I'm using my mobile's 3G now!!)

And also the house is sooooo creepy as it's very very very old.

It's not so surprising anymore that we get unexpected blackout or water failure in London due to the problem of system, although they don't have earthquake here.

However, why today??
I thought I finished my adventure when I arrived airport today, but it seems it never ends... orz

my room now...

Bye Bye PoPo&Italy -Going back to London-

I have stayed in Italy for 7days. Italy was unexpectedly thrilling and exciting.
Although there were several times I felt unsafe, I thought Italian people were very kind and friendly.
I really enjoyed my time in Italy and I think my PoPo also loved the country very much...
so that he decided to stay in Italy....(I can't find him in my pocket now...)

Bye Bye Italy....

Bye Bye PoPo...

Another Roma4 -MACRO: Museum of Contemporary Art of Rome -

After I had a great time in MAXXI museum, I took a bus to visit another museum called "MACRO". I thought it would be easy to find if it's MACRO, not micro.

Bus as usual, I walked....
I walked....
I walked....
I found it!!!

It was BEAUTIFUL inside..
huge....nice and quiet..
There was a small library.
Book shops;)
The best toilet I have ever visited in my life!!!!!
It was not very practical as it was a bit dark, but this toilet was very exciting!!!
I don't know why Italian contemporary museum are so good at designing Toilet. MAXXI's toilet was also fashionable.
